USA: The Italian Job: Twitter Adds Its Fourth Native Tongue

Following the successful launches of Twitter in Spanish and Twitter in French, the service has announced native support for another new language today: Italian. This means that of the initial "FIGS" languages (that is French, Italian, German, and Spanish) that Twitter wanted to get done, only German remains. Given that Twitter is crowd-sourcing much of the work for these translations, the speed at which they're adding new ones is impressive.
Prior to the Spanish and French roll-outs, Twitter was previously available in English and Japanese. As usual, Twitter has written the latest blog post on the matter in the native tongue, so we'll (roughly) translate it below.
We're excited because today with the launch of the Italian version of our site becomes even more a platform for global communication. Iniziamo con la storia del Micro-Blog
Tutto inizio nel marzo 2006 quando Jack Dorsey,decise di aprire Twitter limitando gli inserimenti dei post di max 140 caratteri , fu una mossa azzeccata.La blogsfera era diventata troppo grande e ingombrante e Twitter sembrava proprio ciò che serviva . 'Penso che Twitter sia come scrivere sul muro' ,spiegò,'le persone che camminano lungo quel muro scelgono di leggerlo o di ignorarlo.Penso sia molto utile per permettere a chiunque di esprimersi,e quelli che passano hanno l'opportunità di saperne di più su una persona di condividere o meno i suoi pensieri.'
Più facile rispetto a qualunque altro blog poco impegnativo dal punto di vista del tempo e dell'attezione rispetto all'instant messagging , Twitter raggiunse la sua notorietà nel 2008 quando fu adottato dal team di Barack Obama durante la sua campagna elettorale come mezzo per gli elettori più giovani.L'azienda Twitter attualmente vale circa più di due miliardi di euro e vanta tre milioni di account.
Dicembre 2008 a Mumbai, dopo degli attacchi terroristici migliaia di persone decisero di scrivere su Twitter cosa stava accadendo e lo stesso governo indiano pregava agli utenti di Twitter di non inviare più informazioni .
Infine il successo di Twitter si è verificato per lo stesso motivo di quello dei blog: è il prodotto giusto al momento giusto. In un'epoca in cui ogni singolo click viene analizzato e interpretato , non è abbastanza sapere che un blog ha dei lettori.Twitter è in grado di tracciare quanti post hanno inserito , i thread che hanno letto ,le parole che hanno usato . Possiamo dire che nel mondo ognuno grazie a Twitter può dare informazioni a sua scelta e ognuno può interpretarle nel modo in cui scrive .
